2013 LML Duramax TCM replacement. 330,000 miles. I had what I thought it was an electrical issue that I couldn’t figure out in the in the time I had available to commit to it, so I chose to just have it taken to a pro. I spent several days shopping around for a shop that I felt confident had both competent diesel techs and the customer care/support to be willing to work with a DIYer with a lot of questions and special requests that would annoy most other shops. The tuck had a partial emissions delete that makes it harder to find competent places to work on it. I was upfront that depending on what the diagnosis was, I might want to do any repairs myself. I wanted additional things checked out and an opinion on how to go about future DYI repairs and what the best order to do them would be. Most of the places I called made it obvious in just a few minutes that they would just rather not, or have me the impression that I would be a low priority. When I call Dana Brothers and spoke with Mike, it was obvious right from the start I had found my place. It’s always encouraging when the guy answering the phone knows what he’s talking about and can answer all of your questions without having to put you on hold and go talk to somebody else. Right from the start, all of my interactions, have been 100% helpful, professional, and just a five star experience all around. Not only where they able to accommodate all of my special requests/circumstances, but it was obvious that everybody I interact with, was already familiar with who I was and what was going on with my vehicle. Despite clearly being a busy shop with a heavy workload, they were able to get to my truck as faster, or faster than any of the other places I called. The diesel tech that worked on my truck was incredibly competent. They were incredibly fast and had the truck diagnosed and repaired much faster than I had anticipated or plan for. The main issue keeping the truck out of commission ended up being a failed TCM. Dana Bros. price to replace it was extremely reasonable. Especially when you consider all the other peripheral diagnostic and consulting they had also given me. Barely more than I could’ve done the repair for my self. Because of my busy schedule, I ended up not being able to pick up the truck for several days. Another shop may have gotten impatient, and started pestering me about when I could come pick it up and pay, but they were super cool. When I did come to pick up the truck and asked if I could speak with the tech worked on it they went and grabbed him and brought him right out and both he and Mike were perfectly willing and happy to speak with me about the truck, it’s history, and what they thought of it going forward with recommendations as to what they would do next and how I could best care for it and work on it going forward. I am quite the talker and at no point did they act impatient or give me the sense that I was wasting their time, even when my chitchat was keeping them away from their jobs for over 45 mins. My experience with Dana Bros. Was absolutely fantastic from start to finish and I would gladly recommend them to anyone. Good people are hard to come by and keep in this economy and era and I’m very pleased to say in Dana Brothers I have found a business that has been able to do this In the most exemplary way! Mike Friedman provided one of the best customer service experiences I’ve ever had anywhere. He was fantastic from the moment he pick up the first phone call. He was exceptionally prompt in communicating and updating with me with both calls and texts anytime Jorden found or did anything to my Truck. I hope they realize what an asset they have in this outstanding professional. Jordan Castillo was the diesel tech who work on my truck and is a true rock star. I had brought the truck to him to figure out the electrical issue and he did whatever it took to allow him to answer that question for me, while of course making sure I was made aware of everything he was doing. What a stud! I will absolutely be using them again!
